Tips for makeup on your wedding day…..

This post is from an actual email that I sent to one of my brides before her big day.  Because she wanted to clean out her make-up case and start fresh, I guided her to Sephora where she could find the best make-up to use on her wedding day and also for every day! I thought you would all like to read this, because these are my go-to’s for wedding/special occasions, but can also be toned down for a natural look that lasts.  I will post links to ALL of the items I listed.  Every piece of make-up listed has one thread that ties them all together…MOISTURE. The liners don’t tug, the blush is subtle and non-drying, the gloss is luscious and hydrating and the foundation and primers are perfect for skin that is dry…yet doesn’t give an oily appearance when applied correctly.  So, here it is….an email that can help many brides to be or for someone who wants some new make-up:

Here’s my advice hon…can’t wait for the wedding day!!!!

PRIMER: I have primer for your wedding day, but if you want a good one, get the Laura Mercier moisturizing primer….its one part moisture and one part primer…AWESOME.

FOUNDATION: Laura Mercier oil free foundation…this stuff doesn’t budge, and you look fresh, not cakey….perfect for wedding/special occasion.

LASHES: I have lashes…but you can get individuals at Sally’s (I have them for your wedding day…so no worries)

OIL CONTROL/TOUCHUPS: Urban Decay, De-Slick Mattifying Powder…you NEED something to blot and re-set your makeup..you NEED this stuff….it is good for the wedding day and at the end of a long work day.

BRONZER: Hoola by Benefit bronzer. It’s the BEST bronzer….blows NARS out of the water…and it’s good for your skin tone and its matte..you’re going to be naturally dewy, you just don’t want to look wet, ya know?

BLUSH: Urban Decay After-Glow Blush in Fetish or Score (you pick it…but I do love Score because it is peachy)

EYES: Urban Decay eyeliner in Zero and Bourbon, NARS Eyeliner Stylo in Black, Urban Decay eyeshadow in: Baked, Lounge, Twice Baked, Smog, Stray Dog and Vapor.

MASCARA: Dior Show in Black, you might want to get waterproof too for your wedding day… or just waterproof.

LIPS: Urban Decay Glide on lipliner in Naked, NARS Lip Laquer in Chelsea Girls.

SETTING SPRAY: Urban Decay All-Nighter (I have this if you want to wait to buy it, but it ROCKS)

Why Urban Decay? The stuff lasts and it’s going to GLIDE on…everything they make is really easy to use even after your wedding. Why Laura? The best primers and foundations. Why Benefit? The absolute prettiest, mattest bronzer. Why Dior Show? You know why.  Why Nars? You are going to have this perfectly nude lip laquer for like, a year and it lasts all day…oh, and the eyeliner is as easy to use as a pen.  These colors can be amped up to more dramatic looks and you can also use all of this for every day too. It’s buildable for your wedding day and it’s subtle for everyday. Also, I went with browns and nakeds and neutrals because I want more emphasis on your eyes….some of the shadows are metallic, but some are more matte, so it balances.
