Amy has worked on Uniqlo and DKNY ad campaigns in New York, Fall 2010 collections, she has participated in New York Fashion Week, DKNY Spring 2010 collections, she was listed in InStyle magazine’s Beauty Black Book for the best make-up artist in Providence, RI in October 2010 and she has been talked about frequently on GoLocalProv.com. Amy joins our team as La La Luxe’s make-up and fashion expert and also client coordination and salon coordination. We are so happy to have her here! The sky is the limit 🙂

this was the event that we went to last night at Shag in Boston...SO FUN!!
He straightens Lady Gaga out in more ways than we know……if you know what I mean. He’s worshiped by Jennifer Lopez and loved by Vogue and hundreds of other fashion magazines….he’s Oribe and you’ve read more than once here that I LOVE the guy. We had a chance to meet him last night and see him in action. He recreated several of his photo shoots (Halle Berry and her short bob/wig on the September issue of Vogue and Amber Valettas V Magazine cover shoot) and we were both inspired and left wanting more!! And there will be more in the future…..just wait 🙂 He was launching his product line and we have had the opportunity to play around with the products that Oribe, himself, created and the word is out: IT IS UNBELIEVABLE…….It is available for purchase at www.oribe.com and also at Shag Salon in Boston. Although we loved the cookies ‘n’ cream accent wall that surrounded us while we worked these past few months, it was time for a change…..a serene, sophisticated, “lofty” feel was much needed. So, we took the plunge. After numerous opinions and several paint covered poster boards later, the verdict was in: Beige…..well, let’s reveal the correct name (because it sounds so pretty and is SO much more than beige….) Antique Parchment. A Benjamin Moore hue that coats the walls of lofts and studios in Soho, San Diego and New Zealand salons and boutiques….why this pick? Because after researching, I found that there is NO other color in the entire wheel or spectrum that matches with ANYTHING…We’re not just talking wall decor…..we’re talking furniture, texture, and one little thing that keeps us in this business…..PEOPLE!! In this industry, the walls and our surroundings actually make a huge difference in how the client looks in the mirror and how we, as stylists and artists, perceive color, skin tone and different tones in the hair. Basically, we’ve added a soft touch to make YOU the client, more of a focus and so that YOU can feel relaxed, comfortable and confident…Who knew a fresh coat of paint could do so much?
